The Z1000 A1 is the 1015 cc successor to the 900 range, bored out from the Z1 engine to give 83 hp. Its main differences from the Z1 are a four-into-two exhaust and a rear disc brake in place of a drum. It is an air-cooled DOHC four on a double-cradle steel frame.
